JOB SUMMARY:
The primary role of the Director of Therapy Services is to lead therapy operations and all professional and support staff assigned to the Therapy Services Department. The Director of Therapy Services will be fiscally responsible for the Therapy Services Department budget(s) and financial performance. The Director of Therapy Services is also responsible for the development and implementation of a department strategic plan that is consistent with the Agency's mission,
values and long-term sustainability.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for leadership of all disciplines and activities assigned to Therapy Services Department and development of professional staff.
2. Responsible for certification/licensures/credentialing relating to therapy services and staff.
3. Develop and manage staffing patterns to meet community/agency/network/program needs.
4. Accountable for the financial results of the Therapy Services department and to develop a business model that is fiscally responsible and sustainable.
5. Participate in public relations, business network development, marketing of services, and fundraising activities of the Agency.
6. Assess community need and plan/develop new and innovative treatment strategies that set the therapy direction for the Agency.
7. Develop and update program descriptions, policies, and procedures.
8. Search out, establish, and maintain relationships with appropriate local, community, state agencies, healthcare networks, and referral sources.
9. Assist in preparing all appropriate Therapy Services Department budgets and forecasts.
10. Based on evidence based practice and best practice standards, develop appropriate service measurements and outcomes and prepare all necessary reports.
11. Serve as HIPAA Compliance Officer. Coordinate HIPAA committee meetings and appropriate follow-up. Facilitate HIPAA training for all new employees, as well as, annual HIPAA training for all employees. Ensure agency is HIPAA compliant and all policies and procedures are up-to-date.
12. Serve as Medicare Compliance Officer. Ensure agency is Medicare compliant and all policies & procedures are kept up-to-date. Arrange for annual Medicare review.
13. Responsible for determining and approving appropriate continuing education for department personnel.
14. Develop strategic and long-range plan for Therapy Services Department.
15. Develop business opportunities, search out contract for service opportunities, and pursue grant opportunities where appropriate.
16. When necessary, prepare programs and services for certification through the appropriate accrediting agencies.

18. Recruit, hire, schedule, and supervise staff associated with the Therapy Services Department.
19. Adhere to and promote the agency safety policies and procedures.
20. Perform all other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Operations.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Degree in occupational, physical or speech therapy preferred. Other degrees will be considered.
2. Five years of experience in outpatient/inpatient clinic, rehabilitation organization, or human services agency serving persons with temporary or permanent therapy needs. At least two years to have been in a leadership position.
3. Familiarity with reimbursement strategies, as well as private and government funding structures.
4. In addition to basic computer experience (Microsoft Office, Excel, Internet), familiarity with electronic medical record keeping programs and centralized scheduling is preferred.
5. Familiarity with prior authorization procedures, ICD-10 and CPT codes, and overall billing office operations.
6. Strong communication and organization skills.
7. A combination of education and experience within human services, rehabilitation, or clinical discipline that provides a comprehensive understanding of issues relating to persons with therapy needs may be considered in place of the above qualification.
8. Successful completion of background check and drug screen.
